About the role


We are seeking an experienced Design Operations Lead to oversee and lead the planning, execution, and delivery of intuitive, beautiful experiences at AllTrails. Your key responsibilities will include driving project success through seamless coordination and maintaining process standards. As a member of Product Design, you will report to a Design Director and join a small, talented team. In this highly collaborative role, you'll help shape the future of AllTrails by working closely with product management, product and brand design, content, program management, engineering, research and marketing. You will play a key role in ensuring a high-quality work environment, helping your team stay efficient, motivated, and empowered. What you’ll be doing
  • Lead the planning and execution of projects for product management and design teams, helping define scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (research, content, program management, engineering and marketing) to keep everyone aligned on goals and deliverables.
  • Make sure the right resources are in place, manage timelines, and keep projects on track.
  • Stay ahead of potential risks and roadblocks, and come up with strategies to minimize delays or disruptions.
  • Keep clear project documentation (plans, schedules, updates, and post-launch reviews) to ensure all stakeholders are in the loop.
  • Look for ways to improve processes and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of project management.


What qualifications we’re looking for
  • At least 5+ years of experience in digital project management, ideally for companies creating consumer-facing products.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish, using Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies and tools like Jira, Trello, or Asana.
  • Experience managing the entire product lifecycle, including planning, design, development, and launch.
  • Skilled in collaborating with teams across product management, design, engineering, research, marketing, and other functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical teammates.
  • Experience leading teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring efficient project execution.
  • Ability to identify potential risks early and develop strategies to mitigate delays or disruptions.
  • Comfortable using data and metrics to track progress, measure success, and guide project decisions.
  • Knowledge of web and app development processes, UX/UI principles, and the technology stack used in digital products.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment, and setting clear expectations for everyone involved.
  • Humility, empathy and open-mindedness.
  • Passion for the outdoors.

$135,000 - $175,000 a year
A successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on various factors such as skills, experience, training, and credentials, as well as other business purposes or needs.  It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range of their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors and circumstances of each case
