POSITION SUMMARY

Hardworking leader needed for Steamboat Sports at Steamboat Square!  We are looking for an Assistant Manager with at least one year of guest service and rental/retail experience required.  We are looking for prompt, accurate and professional folks who are always self-motivated and positive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Shop Manager

• Identify and supervise staff on equipment or facility maintenance projects

• Staff management including training, teambuilding, coaching, and disciplinary action

• Work under stressful situations while maintaining good customer relations

• Communicate directly with guests regarding any issues and concerns that arise

• Maintaining proper inventory levels for expected guest volume in conjunction with all other shops.

• Under direction of the Store Manager, administer budget and financial decisions concerning labor and expenses to meet operating budgets

• Ensure understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

• Other duties, as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2 years of previous work history/education required

• 1 year experience in a ski shop with both rental and retail products required

• 1 year guest service experience required

• Cash handling experience required

• Comfortable using information systems including sales programs and Microsoft Office

• Exceptional people and language skills

• Prompt, accurate and professional judgment in a fast-paced environment

• Must maintain a professional and well-respected rental-retail operation

• Problem solves in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, subordinates and co-workers

• Be a consistent role model for company’s Service Excellence standards

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma and GED equivalent

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: $22.50 - $23.50 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be minimum 18 years of age

• Stand for long periods of time and move boxes that weigh up to 50 lbs.

• Communicate fluently in English

• Must have a valid driver's license and meet insurability standards

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
