Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design, development, and integration of AUV systems, including PCB design, schematics, component selection, layout, assembly, and testing of electrical prototypes.

  • Own the troubleshooting and debugging process across electrical and firmware integration boundaries using lab tools (oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.).

  • Architect power management, sensors, communications, payloads, and interconnects, ensuring they meet the demanding constraints of long-duration subsea operations.

  • Collaborate closely with mechanical and software teams to align electrical systems with overall AUV platform requirements.

  • Lead and participate in design reviews, providing input on electrical design, manufacturability, and integration strategies for reliability in underwater environments.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience (preferably in AUVs, robotics, or complex embedded systems).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.

  • Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, CAN, RS-485) and networking in embedded systems.

  • Strong system-level thinking and the ability to manage cross-disciplinary integration challenges.

  • Bonus: Familiarity with telemetry, mission planning software, and reliability challenges in underwater environments.
