Apple’s Product, Design & Marketing (PD&M) Operations team is seeking an Employee Engagement Specialist who is enthusiastic about creating an environment where people can do their best work. The ideal candidate has experience designing and executing events for in-person and virtual settings and brings a creativity for pushing the boundaries on what’s possible.
Description
The Engagement & Events Specialist creates and executes employee events and content that engages, informs and inspires individuals across PD&M on key internal programs and initiatives. You must be highly creative, love people, and be a self-starter who has a track record managing and delivering dynamic projects with minimal oversight.
In addition, the person in this role will be responsible for building out a strategy to engage and grow early career talent through our career experience and intern programs. You will need to work collaboratively with recruiters, managers, and other support teams to ensure that our emerging talent employees are setup for success during their time in PD&M.
AREAS OF FOCUS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Event Design & Planning: creating the visual and experiential aspects of an event to align with its goals and target audience; organizing and hosting events across settings (in-person, virtual, hybrid) that promote employee networking, volunteerism, growth, and development
- Vendor Management: identifying and choosing the right vendors based on their capabilities, pricing, and overall suitability, which can include working with an internal meetings & events team on the vetting process
- Budget Management: creating and maintaining budgets for events, including vendor negotiations (as needed)
- Community Building: Developing initiatives to engage with a community; creating and sharing educational content to support engagement; measuring and analyzing data related to employee motivation, satisfaction, and commitment
- Strategic Communications: intentionally planning and executing messages with a clear objective in mind, not just to inform but to persuade or motivate action towards engagements goals; will use internal communications channels such as Slack, email, and Keynote
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
4+ years of professional experience supporting projects that focus on the events, learning, or employee engagement space
You exhibit a growth mindset, demonstrated passion for learning and engagement, and natural curiosity
A self-starter who is both proactive and accountable, with the ability to perform with minimal supervision and quickly unblock yourself when things are unclear
Fountain of ideas and creative thinking who can think and implement quickly, laterally, independently or collaboratively
Flexible and eager to collaborate with others to see projects through completion
Knowledge of and have an ease working in collaboration tools (ex: Quip, Slack) and productivity software (Numbers, Keynote)
Experience collaborating with highly matrixed and globally distributed teams and stakeholders
Experience prioritizing competing demands in a corporate environment
Willing to flex from strategic to tactical work every day
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated history of increasing employee engagement at an organization
Event production experience with the ability to advise others in this area
End-to-end professional project management experience: conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close
Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
