Role Overview

Appsmith is looking for a passionate and driven community manager to maintain and grow our community of developers. As a key member of our developer relations team, you will be the face of Appsmith in our community platforms, as well as other online and offline platforms where developers congregate. You’ll provide help, resources, and foster collaborating by organizing and executing community events. You’re excited about the opportunity to create vibrant communities, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute a community engagement strategy, both online and offline.

  • Act as the primary moderator for Appsmith's online channels, managing day-to-day interactions.

  • Represent Appsmith in various developer forums and platforms, providing resources, answering questions, and building relationships.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute community events (both online and in-person) to foster engagement and strengthen community relationships.

  • Identify key community members and leverage their expertise to assist others and foster collaboration.

  • Support event and demand generation teams in marketing and customer event execution, and speaker submissions.

  • Create and manage a content calendar for community engagement, including blog posts, tutorials, templates, videos, and other relevant content.

  • Manage the Appsmith swag store.

About you:

  • Typically, successful candidates will have 2+ years experience in community management in a tech or developer-focused company.

  • Technically oriented, with the ability to credibly converse about JavaScript, APIs, and SQL.

  • Experience with AI/ML technologies is a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.

  • Experience in experimenting, measuring and reporting on community health and growth. 

  • Experience planning and executing events, both online and offline.

  • Strong understanding of developer communities (Discord, Reddit, Hacker News, etc.) and the ability to engage with them effectively.

  • Strong aptitude for working independently in a remote work setting.
