We are a global award-winning media production company showcasing original storytelling through a global lens. We fearlessly challenge and entertain audiences through our television and streaming, editorial, scripted, and unscripted audio content. We have an exciting Assistant to VP, Creative Content position open in our Los Angeles office.
This Assistant is responsible for supporting the smooth day to day running of the Office of the VP of Creative Content. This position is also responsible for evaluating material, tracking submissions, and coordinating and disseminating information and materials pertaining to Shondaland's multi-platform and multi-genre projects at all stages.
THE DAILIES - YOUR IMPACT:
- Performs administrative tasks such as answers phones, manages calendar, schedules meetings and conference calls, makes travel arrangements, and handles expenses.
- Learns to work within the department's established systems to ensure the accounting of all essential incoming and generated material, information, memorandums, and policies.
- Writes extensive notes and/or coverage on submitted material.
- Delivers and learns to read production documents such as call sheets, oneliners, shooting schedules, etc.
- Manages communication and distributes material between various internal departments, production, partners, studios, network, and representatives.
- Works with the support team to build and maintain talent lists, and carefully track the status of all development and current projects.
- Secure confidential documents, agreements and other sensitive information related to show development and production.
- Develops creative sensibility via written notes and articulation of point of view.
- Takes ownership of the position and develops efficiencies for how the office could run.
- Other duties as assigned.
YOUR ESSENTIALS - QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in related field required.
- At least 1 years' experience in entertainment industry.
- Able to work flexible hours, including reading and research outside of office hours.
- Strong awareness of the Shondaland brand and mission, along with a keen interest in the current and upcoming Shondaland slates.
- Ability to nimbly operate between various projects, priorities, and personalities while remaining organized, knowledgeable of details, and calm under pressure.
- Confidence in ability to dependably communicate through writing; grammar and proof-reading proficiency.
- Sense of discretion in regards to sensitive information.
- Willingness to learn and advance knowledge in development, producing, and/or writing.
- Distinct taste, knowledge, and curiosity of the entertainment landscape.
- Default to taking initiative, asking questions, and working inclusively with a team.
