The Director of Product Compliance will report to the Chief Compliance Officer and will manage a team of compliance professionals who will primarily be responsible for ensuring that Best Egg products and services operate within regulatory risk tolerances.  The successful candidate will also be an ambassador for compliance, promoting compliance awareness and ensuring that business partners receive accurate and relevant regulatory guidance and support for new product launches, new initiatives, issue remediation, complaints management, and compliance training. The ideal candidate will have prior regulatory compliance experience, an understanding of the functionality of a range of consumer financial products, and a firm grasp of consumer laws and regulations, including UDAAP, ECOA, TILA, FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA and GLB/CCPA and others.  The Product Compliance Team will ensure existing products remain compliant as they continue to scale and also support new product development by identifying and assessing compliance risk and developing strategies for compliance. 


Responsibilities
  • Lead the Product Compliance function and establish relationships across product teams and deliver compliance advisory services that enhance the Best Egg suite of products.
  • Supervise a team of Product Compliance professionals tasked with carrying out the vision and strategy of the Product Compliance function.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, programs, and mechanisms to assess new and changed product risk and evaluating launch conditions consistently across new feature deployments.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of product, marketing, operations, legal, data, and risk teams to design, market, and operationalize Best Egg products to ensure all relevant state and federal compliance obligations are satisfied
  • Ensure the Product Compliance team reviews appropriate marketing and customer facing collateral
  • Review, edit, and approve enterprise Compliance Policies
  • Actively participate in the Issues Management lifecycle to ensure product Issues that impact compliance are prioritized appropriately and resolved timely
  • Represent Best Egg to external Bank partners as needed
  • Provide effective oversight to ensure Best Egg’s products operate within the stated Compliance Risk Appetite.


Requirements
  • 10+ years working in the compliance advisory, risk, and/or control function of a bank and/or financial technology company or relevant industry
  • Experience working with product teams on regulatory compliance matters including, but not limited to: marketing reviews, risk assessments, financial product obligations, consumer compliance, conduct risk, complaints handling
  • Experience evaluating emerging products for compliance risk, working with the product and business stakeholders to implement creative solutions to tough compliance requirements, and conducting compliance reviews of new products and marketing materials
  • The ability to identify and define problems, build project plans to address them, and manage implementation of their solution
  • The ability to effectively communicate across various lines of business and senior management
  • An ambitious sense of curiosity and a willingness to explore areas outside of your comfort zone, like new markets or new product types
  • The ability to work efficiently and independently in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment, with a strong understanding of when to escalate urgent issues
  • Respect for and interest in financial rules and regulations, as well as an eagerness to innovate and drive the industry forward
  • Must work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • CRCM preferred


$160,000 - $190,000 a year
This position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.  Yearly incentive bonus target 25% of base salary.  This position may also qualify for an LTIP.
