Our Legal team is small but mighty, made up of highly skilled specialists in their field who support the business to reach its goals whilst minimising risk.
This is your opportunity to join as a Legal Counsel on a 12 month fixed term contract. You will become a trusted advisor to all areas of the business to assist with achieving carsales vision and business plan while minimising risk. Working on a wide variety of legal work, you will really get to know the business and understand each day how you are contributing to the success.

Job Description
What you will do
- Review, negotiate and draft a broad range of commercial contracts and website terms.
- Advise the business in relation to privacy, consumer protection, trade practices and competition law issues.
- Assist with M&A activity.
- Collaborate and support relevant stakeholders in managing legal disputes, including IP infringements, service provider and customer disputes.
- Assist with event sponsorships, trade promotions and marketing collateral.
Qualifications
What we are looking for
- Demonstrated inclusive and interpersonal attributes that connect you to our behaviours (we change the game, we own it, we step in, we are curious, we don’t take ourselves too seriously).
- Unrestricted Australian practising certificate.
- Demonstrated experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
