Full Stack Software Engineer

About the Role

As a Software Engineer on the DAO team, you will design, build, and maintain scalable systems that deliver a first-class experience for both Credit Union members and staff — ultimately driving the growth in newly opened accounts.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our Product and Design teams, as well as collaborate with external partners, giving you the chance to strengthen skills beyond engineering, such as communication, product thinking, and negotiation.

Credit Unions (CUs) strive to offer their members loans with competitive interest rates. To make this possible, the greater the members’ investment in the CUs, the more favorable the rates become. That’s why Digital Account Opening (DAO) plays such a critical role at Clutch — it enables customers to seamlessly open new accounts (e.g., Savings, Checking) and start investing their money, strengthening the overall financial ecosystem.

The team has skilled full stack engineers who collaborate closely to tackle challenging problems. We foster a supportive and hands-on environment where everyone contributes to designing and building secure, scalable solutions.

What You’ll Do

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Be fully onboarded to your new team, familiarizing yourself with Clutch’s tools, processes, and culture.

  • Build strong relationships with your team members, leader, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Work in collaboration with developers and other stakeholders to enhance our platform.

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Ensure high-quality code, and enabling the efficient delivery of features and improvements.

  • Write elegant, efficient, and testable code that is easy to maintain and debug.

  • Take care of configurations and processes documentation so stakeholders understand how to use the platform

Within 9 months, you will:

  • As a true teammate, continuously improve the team’s processes, brainstorm ideas, and communicate statuses, and progress

  • Deliver a lot of new stuff to our products

  • Start identifying opportunities to deliver faster, reliable solutions and make initial contributions to architectural improvements.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to write clean, maintainable code.

  • Proficiency in one or more technical languages, preferably TypeScript (both back-end and front-end), React, Node.js, Python, and AWS.

  • Proficiency in backend development with a strong focus on scalable and reliable systems.

  • You must have excellent English communication

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote-first environment.
