Waymo is seeking an experienced creative marketing leader to guide the look, feel, and tone of our marketing communications. You’re a compelling storyteller and you delight in delivering inspiring and persuasive creative across all consumer touchpoints. You have extensive experience motivating and managing agency creatives, inspiring others to develop marketing creative that is breakthrough, innovative and on-brand. You are a strategic thinker, brilliant executor, and clear communicator, comfortable working on complex and early stage brands. You have strong knowledge of digital, print, and experiential marketing mediums and best practices in the B2C space. You enjoy collaborating with marketing professionals, ad agencies, designers, strategists, and copywriters to develop and guide innovative marketing creative.


In this role you'll: 


  • Develop, plan, and implement a creative marketing vision for consumer-facing initiatives across all touch points spanning digital campaigns, email campaigns, social campaigns, print collateral, events, web and other emerging channels
  • Guide beautiful visual solutions that align with Waymo’s brand voice and complement external narratives through photography, video, typography, color, and animation
  • Clearly and articulately explain your rationale and evoke excitement with your feedback
  • Use broad depth and understanding of design techniques and deep understanding of Waymo brand design language and guidelines to steward external art directors, creative directors and stylists, ensuring high quality, cohesive deliverables for Waymo across all marketing channels
  • Partner with marketing managers to ensure on-brand photo and video style that aligns with the intended audience and message  
  • Establish best practices and innovative creative marketing solutions with a continuous pulse on current marketing trends in the advertising, events, and social media spaces
  • Work in a highly iterative and collaborative way alongside marketing managers, product designers, and other internal stakeholders


At a minimum we'd like you to have:


  • 10+ years of experience as an art director or creative director, preferably in an agency or in-house creative department
  • Experience managing external creative agencies and professionals 
  • Experience with the use of photography, video, typography, color, animation and motion graphics in storytelling
  • Strong portfolio that showcases a range of campaign types and creative expression (e.g. digital graphics, animation, print) across a range of mediums (e.g. TV, OOH, print, digital, social, experiential)
  • Positive, optimistic approach to creative problem solving
  • Passion for compelling brand storytelling and beautiful execution
  • Experience in consumer products, technology, or entertainment brands
  • Appetite for growing an emerging brand into a household name

 

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process. 


Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.

$196,000—$244,000 USD
