Associate Manager, Outsourcing & Vendor Governance

Position Summary:

The Associate Manager (AM) is a skilled specialist contributing to the development and support of relevant business processes within the Outsourcing and Vendor Governance (OVG) group.  The AM primarily supports the OVG Lead with complex outsourcing and governance tasks and applies creative and effective solutions where needed, independently identifying issues, multitasking, and adjusting approaches based on changing priorities.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Support the OVG Lead during the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including bid comparison analyses under OVG Lead guidance.
  • Provide support to the OVG Lead with vendor contract and budget review.
  • Communicate directly with vendors regarding contracts and budgets.
  • Submit contracts within the Legal and Financial systems.
  • Obtain and consolidate input from cross-functional stakeholders on various documents, for example, contracts, budgets, scope of work, and vendor governance slides.
  • Provide support to OVG with arranging vendor meetings, including capabilities presentations, bid defenses, and governance meetings.  
  • Attend meetings, i.e., vendor governance, internal stakeholder, etc. and document decisions and actions.
  • Follow up with vendors and internal teams on action items completion.
  • Consolidate and track vendors’ reported metrics for standard Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist OVG in creating standardized KPIs per vendor type for various departments at Crinetics.  
  • Assist in the development, improvement and implementation of processes and tools related to outsourcing and governance activities.
  • Maintain OVG SharePoint site.
  • Support and manage general and departmental ad hoc projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of related work experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry (Biotech, CRO, Research Site) (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
  • Solid understanding of drug development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong PC skills (MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Act with consistent sense of urgency with acute attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and responsibilities of this job. Laboratory Activities (if applicable): Biology and chemical laboratory environment experience needed. Environmental health and safety requirements also apply.

Travel:

You may be required to travel for up to 5% of your time.

The Anticipated Base Salary Range:  $99,000 - $123,000

In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. We also provide top-notch health insurance plans for employees (and their families) to include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance, 20 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, and a winter company shutdown.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
