About The Role
This role is pivotal within Wavemaker’s Sports, Live & Gaming practice, where we spearhead cutting-edge brand partnerships across sports, entertainment, esports, and experiential platforms. We are seeking a dynamic expert to architect and execute high-impact sports strategies that amplify our clients' brands.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned sports marketing expert with a proven ability to blend creativity, strategic thinking, and project management acumen. You will be at the forefront of developing and managing integrated sports programs across sports leagues, teams, and media properties.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert, leading account strategy and development of sports platforms surrounding basketball partnership(s) for a key client.
- Partnership Management: Oversee the execution of sports programs and partnerships, including contractual obligations and incremental initiatives. Collaborate with leagues, teams, talent and media entities to develop and manage campaigns.
- Sports Marketing Expertise: Create comprehensive 360-degree sports programs for our client’s brands encompassing activations, integrations, talent partnerships, amplification and content development.
- Creative Ideation: Drive innovative sports initiatives aligned with broader partnership goals.
- Client Servicing: Own client relationships, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful partnership execution.
- Internal Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal Wavemaker teams including planning, strategy, investment, data sciences on integrated partnerships and initiatives
- Industry Knowledge: Stay informed on sports partnership and media trends, providing thought leadership and strategic insights.
- Measurement & Optimization: Provide measurement and recapping for Wavemaker clients’ sports efforts, inclusive of insights and optimizations
The Candidate
- 3-5 years of client service and account management in a sports partnership role, W/NBA experience a plus.
- Deep understanding of the sports marketing ecosystem across platforms with the ability to develop integrated strategies, with specific focus on basketball.
- Proven ability to develop, negotiate, and execute comprehensive marketing programs.
- Enthusiasm for working on diverse sports partnerships across various clients and properties.
- Strong creative curiosity and effective problem-solving skills to manage complex partnerships & hospitality initiatives.
- Ability to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative sports opportunities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex partnerships.
- Must be willing to travel (10%)

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $60,000 to $140,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
