As part of our growing team, you will play a key role in ensuring that our clients navigate immigration laws effectively as they hire and manage talent across borders. We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking immigration lawyer to join our team to support both our internal legal framework and the broader needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Immigration Consultations: Provide strategic legal support to clients by understanding their immigration needs and offering tailored advice to help them navigate the complexities of hiring internationally. You will assist with ensuring compliance with immigration regulations for remote workforces across multiple jurisdictions, and provide exceptional client service.
Strategic Assessments: Evaluate clients' business models and offer insights on how their immigration strategy aligns with their hiring and operational goals. You will provide strategic immigration advice for businesses that operate internationally, assessing their workforce needs from a legal standpoint and advising on the best immigration pathways.
Support for Inspections & Compliance: Support clients through the inspection process, offering guidance on preparing for audits or inspections from immigration authorities. This includes advising on documentation, compliance requirements, and potential risk areas to ensure clients' operations continue smoothly across multiple countries.
Content Creation for Global Immigration Needs: Develop clear, engaging, and accurate content that outlines immigration processes, legal requirements, and business strategies for employers hiring in various countries. This content will serve as a resource for Deel's clients, providing them with up-to-date knowledge on immigration laws, work permits, and visa processes globally.
Cross-Jurisdiction Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams and legal professionals in various countries to provide seamless, comprehensive legal support to Deel’s global client base. Ensure that immigration processes align with different legal frameworks across jurisdictions, maintaining a smooth workflow for clients and minimizing risks.
Ongoing Legal Research & Policy Monitoring: Stay informed about the latest trends, changes, and developments in immigration laws across different regions. Regularly update and refine Deel’s immigration policies and legal guidelines to ensure clients receive the best possible advice.
Preparing and drafting of both application submissions and appeals
Skills & Qualifications:
Legal Expertise: A Juris Doctor (J.D.) / LLB / LLM with admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction. Specialization and strong experience in immigration law is required.
B2B Legal Advisory Experience: Proven track record of providing immigration legal advice to large businesses, particularly in remote workforce settings.
Clear Communication & Writing Skills: Ability to articulate complex legal concepts in clear, client-friendly language both in written and verbal formats. Capable of creating engaging and informative content for international clients.
Global Perspective & Cultural Sensitivity: Experience working with international clients and understanding of cultural diversity in the business context.
Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with legal research tools, case management software, and an understanding of technology platforms used in remote work environments.
