Description

Our Specimen Processing Tech processes specimens for testing in a timely manner and orders tests as needed. 

 

SHIFT: 4pm-12:30a rotating weekends and holidays

  • Accurately labels and processes specimens for laboratory testing; ensures preservation of the integrity of each sample prior to distributing.
  • Processes and prepares referral specimens for shipping to reference laboratories. 
  • Observes universal precautions, barrier protection methods and infection control and isolation procedures when working with body fluids and other contagions to ensure a safe work environment. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer 3 yrs sample processing exp with min 1 yr with Emory Medical Laboratory;
  • intermediate computer skills; medical terminology preferred
