Senior Engineering Manager

At Flowhub, we're on a mission to make legal cannabis accessible to everyone. Founded in 2015, Flowhub pioneered the first Metrc API integration to help dispensaries stay compliant. Today, over 1,000 dispensaries trust Flowhub's point of sale, inventory management, business intelligence, and mobile solutions to process $3B+ cannabis sales annually.

Flowhub creates user-friendly business management and compliance products that increase revenue in the highly regulated cannabis industry. Our Engineering department is highly creative, incredibly resourceful, and obsesses over the user experience. We’re currently looking to grow our engineering team by adding a Senior Engineering Manager to our team.  

Engineering managers at Flowhub use their understanding of the product, our customers, and Flowhub’s overall business needs to guide, coach and mentor, and influence the critical work of our teams and the development of our people. They balance having a high-level understanding of our code, roadmap, people, processes, and how best to fit all of these things together to deliver value to our customers. Engineering managers also work closely with the product team, helping them drive results, minimize distractions, and find the best ways for the team to work.

Who you are:

  • An innately curious person who loves asking questions to better understand how people, systems, and businesses work

  • Experienced in software engineering, understanding scalability concepts, project lifecycles, inter-department connectivity, and personnel engagement activities: discovery/design, kickoffs, spec-farming, ticketing, development, release, maintenance

  • A team player who is comfortable discussing complex technical subjects with stakeholders, third-party vendors, product managers, and your teammates

  • A pragmatic leader who develops and grows their team by identifying opportunities, providing candid feedback, and fostering a high-performing culture.

  • Passionate about your customers and coworkers and excited to make an impact on the Cannabis industry

What you’ll do:

  • Work with product management, stakeholders, and customers to design and build the easiest-to-use, most performant point-of-sale platform in the industry

  • Be a leader for your team, representing their interests on the roadmap, their sought opportunities, and their career development

  • Roll up your sleeves and contribute to the codebase- be willing to take on tasks and collaborate on technical design often with your team

  • Collaborate with product and design to determine the most user-friendly and powerful interfaces for our clients. Consider user profiles and workflow efficiencies and keep our teams in iteration cycles.

  • Together with Product, you will own the technical execution of the roadmap—assessing feasibility, estimating effort, aligning resources, and scaling the team as needed to deliver impactful solutions.

  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members

  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support career development and a culture of feedback among peers

This role is open to anyone within the United States, except candidates in CA, NY, or WA, with compensation that aligns with your location. Starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays, unlimited paid time off, and other benefits.

Base Salary $135,000 - $170,000 per year + Equity
