The Team:
Datadog's Finance team works with teams across the organization, providing commercial, operational and analytical support to ensure that Datadog's business continues to grow as rapidly and efficiently as possible.
The Opportunity:
Be part of a growing Procurement team at a high growth organization
Spearhead the creation of Vendor Management and Procurement processes that will be cascaded to the entire organization
Make an impact with these changes by making internal stakeholder’s lives easier and improve vendor relationships
You Will:
Monitor vendor onboarding workflow - act as the main liaison with vendor, stakeholder, security and privacy to ensure efficient flow of procurement onboarding process. This includes reviewing each vendor case to determine the appropriate vendor review, if an NDA and/or DPA is needed and follow the onboarding process until completion. Act as the first reviewer in the process responsible for a “gut check”.
Assist with the creation and implementation of a process for generating reporting that will be shared with key members of the Procurement team on vendor onboarding status
Develop and execute performance scorecards for top tier vendors to drive continuous improvements and ensure vendor decisions/strategy aligns with vendor’s performance track record
Consistently manage the performance of individual vendors and create and implement a process in which vendor performance summaries are shared with key members of the Procurement team. Summaries shall include: overall vendor performance, SaaS utilization, license usage and forecasted projections.
Lead and influence vendor selection decisions (e.g. RFPs), pricing models, and negotiations to further mature Datadog’s vendor landscape and engagements
You Are:
Strong understanding of vendor management, especially vendor due diligence and the reviews necessary for various types of vendors that may or may not have data, privacy and legal implications. Ability to review new vendor requests and determine which reviews are necessary is a must. Experience working on complex vendor management challenges involving multiple business process/process segments to identify solutions, risks, impacts and opportunities
Knowledge of SaaS products and other vendor types that impact privacy and security is a must.
Involvement in developing and implementing procurement policies and processes in areas including but not limited to: vendor management, vendor performance, vendor due diligence (IT, Legal, Security, Privacy reviews), contract management
Ability to analyze and present complex vendor management optimization strategies and performance metrics
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects – prioritization, planning and task delegation
Ability to work with internal business units on business cases for net new contracts and renewals. Experience reviewing SaaS tool utilization and license usage to ensure maximum value.
Understanding of optimization levers such as demand management, consolidation, price negotiation, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree
A minimum of 4-5 years + experience in supporting vendor management and/or procurement in the following capacity:
Vendor Management Program Governance
Vendor Performance and Relationship Management
Contract Management
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
Bonus Points:
Experience in reviewing industry appropriate contract clauses for inclusion in savings opportunity analysis is a plus
Experience with Coupa is a plus
Experience at a high growth technology company is a plus
