This role will be based in Sunnyvale or San Francisco.

This role would be a part of the Growth and Premium team focused on 0→1 venture exploration projects that define the future of growth. You’ll take insights from research and other inputs to form hypotheses, rapidly prototype concepts, and determine viability and investment potential. You’ll be the sole designer on early-stage initiatives—crafting compelling business cases and working closely with cross-functional partners including product, engineering, research, and content design.

We're looking for a strong individual contributor who thrives in ambiguity, works well with lean teams, and helps shape how we work. You’ll also mentor other designers and share your craft expertise. This role reports into design leadership and collaborates closely with executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale and the specifics of user-centered design process
  • Create holistic design solutions that address business, brand, and user requirements
  • Work with web developers and engineers to deliver final products

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in graphic design, design communication, human-computer interaction, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience participating in the complete product development lifecycle of web and/or software applications
  • 10+ years of experience in user experience design or industry experience (corporate, software, web or agency)
  • To be considered for this position, you must include your portfolio, website or other samples of work.

  • Strong experience in providing vision and guidance that helps shape the future of the business; Subject matter expert who leads design across a department or multiple business areas
  • Exceptional ability to influence other product areas across the organization and drive strategy and vision across the business area
  • Exceptional ability to deliver design solutions that grow the business area and create new value for members/customers
  • Mastery in solving unstructured problems that have many dependencies and may have lengthy timelines; Seeks out ambiguity and transforms it into effective, actionable plans
  • Exceptional ability in visual communication
  • Strong experience in effectively communicating ideas to exec leadership and/or broader LinkedIn organization

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.  

The pay range for this role is $180,000-$290,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
