Status: Full Time
Misfits & Machines is seeking a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to drive efficiency, structure, and execution across our technology initiatives. This role is the technology-world equivalent of a TV producer, ensuring that our engineers, AI specialists and product teams are aligned and moving toward successful product launches.
You should be comfortable working in a prototype environment where technical solutions and requirements are unknown and experimentation is highly valued. You will bridge the gap between vision and execution, ensuring that requirements from stakeholders and experimental insights are shaped into cohesive, actionable plans.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that requires technical fluency, strong organizational skills and the ability to foster cross-functional collaboration between our internal teams. This role reports to our SVP of Strategic Partnerships.
Your responsibilities will include:
Project Planning & Execution – Make clear project plans that include milestones and deadlines. Ensure they align with our key business goals and that our engineering team has what it needs to finish them.
Stakeholder & Requirement Management – Work with leadership and product teams to gather their technical needs. Organize these needs into clear development plans.
Resource & Workflow Coordination – Partner with engineering, product and creative teams to allocate resources and ensure optimal productivity.
Risk & Timeline Management – Proactively identify risks and roadblocks, develop mitigation strategies and ensure projects stay on track.
Agile & Iterative Execution - Organize and lead Agile activities such as planning sprints, daily meetings and conducting review sessions for continuous improvement.
Process Optimization & Scalability – Implement best practices and workflows that improve team efficiency and project visibility.
Cross-Functional Communication – Act as the primary connector between technical teams and business teams. Ensure that everyone understands the current status of projects and their expectations.
Three to seven years of experience in technical project management within AI, software development, or technology-driven organizations.
Prior experience managing projects in experimental, prototype-heavy environments is strongly preferred.
Project Management: Well-developed knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and project management tools.
Technical Fluency: While coding experience is not required, a solid comprehension of software development, AI, and emerging technology trends is essential.
Resource Planning & Coordination: Experience working with technical teams and aligning priorities across multiple projects.
Communication & Leadership: Able to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms so that non-technical people can understand.
