The Marketing Manager II, Paid Media will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a comprehensive consumer-centric paid media approach for North American markets. In partnership with the Director of Marketing, this person will take the lead on developing a paid media plan/roadmap, annual plan, and running paid media campaigns from planning through production and performance shareouts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Media strategic approach
- Develop a point of view on media channels and placements that make sense given the communication objectives, creative approach, and media targets
- Understand how paid media should complement and interact with other marketing motions such as owned media, earned media, and events
- Recommend annual media plan, investment levels, and channel mixes that meet or exceed our business objectives and sales targets & resources required to deliver
- Plan and deliver media campaigns
- Brief and set direction for agency partners for campaigns in alignment and coordination with the marketing team and service of business objectives
- Be the day-to-day contact for the paid media agencies & drive communication to ensure the agency is operating in line with Impossible’s expectations
- Help marry and drive a strong fit of media plan and creative territory, including requesting customized creative assets where needed and detailed asset requests to fulfill media plan
- Ensure proposed plans have an accurate measurement plan in place to determine the impact
- Help integrate paid media into other marketing motions & lead internal teams on a timeline
- Media operations
- Serve as primary liaison and day-to-day with our paid media agency
- Ensure compliance with Regulatory, Legal, and IP teams for media plan against contracts and scope of work
- Maintain organized tracker of media investments and follow finance systems for payments
- Drive robust tracking and documentation of media flows, investments, plans, and performance
- Build and implement the processes and timelines vital for top-class media/campaigns
- Media thought leadership & influence
- Build relationships with media representatives to maintain business partnerships and give account updates and briefings for industry trends.
- Be paid media champion internally at Impossible Foods & elevate paid media visibility
- Stay up to date with the latest paid media innovations and find opportunities for Impossible to grow
- Supervise competitive spending and media initiatives and socialize within the organization
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of marketing experience at an agency or in-house
- Experience in agency/vendor management including serving as key point of contact with agency or key business partners, handling scope of works and contracting
- Experience managing marketing or media spending and budgeting
- Strong analytical skills - the ability to analyze raw data, identify insights, and develop useful recommendations
- Outstanding verbal & written communication skills

- Previous experience buying media
- Diligent and able to balance multiple work streams at once
- Ability to work cross-functionally and independently when needed

$124,000 - $157,000 a year
For positions based in Redwood City and Oakland, we offer the above salary range + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
