The Vice President, Public Policy & Strategy, will serve as an integral member of the Government & External Affairs team within MUFG’s Americas Legal Department, based in New York. This multifaceted role blends traditional government affairs responsibilities with enterprise-level sustainability strategy support to advance MUFG’s policy, brand, and commercial objectives across the region. In the government affairs function, the Vice President will help drive MUFG’s advocacy and engagement efforts on a range of public policy matters, including federal legislative and regulatory developments impacting MUFG’s regulation, operations and strategic interests in the U.S. including artificial intelligence, energy and infrastructure, digital innovation—and other areas relevant to MUFG’s core business lines, including Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) and Japanese Corporate Banking (JCB). The candidate will also play a key part in MUFG Americas’ strategic activities related to MUFG Americas’ enterprise-wide sustainability strategy, governance, and planning in addition to supporting executive-sponsored Corporate Responsibility and Social Impact Council (CRSI) and Climate and Sustainability Sub-Council (CSSC) working in close coordination with cross-functional colleagues from Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Corporate Communications, and in close coordination with MUFG’s Sustainability Strategy and Regulatory Affairs Offices in Tokyo working to support alignment with MUFG’s net-zero initiatives, including the Carbon Neutrality Declaration (CND) in addition to partnering with GCIB and JCB colleagues on market-based transition finance solutions.

Qualifications:
The typical base pay range for this role is between $120K - $160K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
