Position Summary
The attorney in this position will work in the Law Department’s Global Resort Operations and Owner Services Group reporting to the Vice President & Assistant General Counsel for Global Resort Operations and Owner Services. The attorney will provide Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation (“MVW”) operating divisions and staff departments with legal assistance and advice.
The attorney in this position will work with individuals at MVW’s resorts, corporate office, operating divisions and staff departments as well as with attorneys and paralegals within the MVW Law Department and externally with outside counsel, vendors, and consultants.
Expected Contributions
The primary duties, responsibilities, and expected contributions of the attorney in this position include:
• Providing business partners with legal assistance, support and advice regarding contracts, resort and owner services issues, operational finance & accounting, assessment and collection policies and practices, transfers of owner interests and issues arising out of such transfers, association governance, and a variety of issues related to MVW’s license arrangements related to its branded businesses;
• Providing general legal advice and counsel regarding compliance with various laws and regulations;
• Drafting and reviewing documentation relating to management and operation of MVW’s resorts and exchange companies including, but not limited to, management agreements, integration agreements, leases, easements, vendor contracts, service agreements and affiliation agreements;
• Drafting and reviewing documentation and communications relating to the operation of MVW’s Owner Services team, including a variety of communications directed to owners, guests, exchangers and/or associates;
• Collaborating with Global Resort Operations and Owner Services team members to identify opportunities for and offering training for business partners;
• Supporting all aspects of company policies and practices;
• Collaborating with outside counsel, vendors, and consultants to support resort operations and owner services matters; and
• Performing other duties as appropriate or as assigned.

Candidate Profile
Education:
• Excellent academic record with a law degree from a top law school; admission to the bar of any state
• Minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience in a well-regarded law firm or comparable corporate environment
Experience:
• Broad base of legal knowledge
• Real estate and corporate experience preferred, with an emphasis on real estate, condominium, timeshare, corporate, and contract law
