They are responsible for easing the way in resolution of patient accounts through financial clearance, payment collection, obtaining sponsorship, and financial assistance. The Patient Financial Counselor Associate identifies eligibility, provides education, facilitates completion of applications for Medicaid/MediCal, and makes referrals as necessary for enrollment support. They assist patients and make eligibility determinations for Providence St. Joseph Health Financial Assistance.
