Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic (Heavy Industrial)

Location: Louisa, VA

Duration: Full Time, Contract to Hire

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Salary: Up to $26/hour (dependent on skills and experience)

Job Description:


We are looking for a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic with experience in heavy industrial work to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in operating various metalworking machines, such as press brakes and plate rollers, and will be capable of handling heavy materials. This role offers competitive compensation for those who meet all the required skills and responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a Press Brake: Bend up to 3/4" pipe and handle other heavy materials using a press brake.
  • Plate Rolling: Use plate rollers to roll up to 3/8" thick plates.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints accurately to determine the appropriate tooling and procedures for bending materials.
  • Tool Selection: Choose the proper tooling for the material being worked on.
  • Setup and Calibration: Set up and adjust back gauges for accurate bending operations.


Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a sheet metal mechanic in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Ability to operate press brakes and plate rollers.
  • Strong skills in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Knowledge of selecting the correct tooling for various materials.
  • Experience in setting up and calibrating back gauges.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Subject to a pre-employment drug test and/or background check.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a heavy industrial environment.
