Sustaining Engineer Intern (Summer 2025)

Bevi is on a mission to disrupt the beverage supply chain and replace single-use water bottles with smart water machines. Thousands of companies use Bevi to sustainably provide their employees with pure, sparkling, and flavored water at work. In addition to maintaining hypergrowth with our current product line, Bevi is heavily investing in new product development.

We are seeking a Sustaining Engineer intern at Bevi for a 3 month summer internship. This role will help ensure that each Bevi machine produced provides an exceptional customer experience. As an intern at Bevi, you will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers as well as with the product management team to continually improve our existing products.

As a Sustaining Engineering intern at Bevi, you will

  • Support the Sustaining Engineering team in prioritizing improvements across Bevi machines currently on the market
  • Help with product failure investigations by gathering data and using root cause analysis techniques
  • Lead design reviews on your projects, clearly communicating opportunities and risks, and proposed next steps. Be an active participant in others design reviews
  • Develop, execute and report findings from tests and studies for the engineering and product teams
  • Work within our PDM system, create 2D prints and 3D models using SOLIDWORKS
  • Get hands-on experience with developing prototypes and test rigs using traditional fabrication as well as 3D printing
  • Actively participate in bringing solutions from prototype into production
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required to contribute to the overall success of the team and organization

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, entering your junior or senior year
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to be on-site at our Boston based office 4-5 days per week
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week

  • Previous exposure to a CAD program (ideally SolidWorks)
  • Experience with hands-on prototype development using basic machine shop tools
  • An innate curiosity and desire to solve problems
  • A learning focus, and interest across engineering disciplines
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate issues, solutions, and results effectively
