Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love; that is what makes us Roche.The OpportunityAs Chief Compliance Officer you will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy for compliance and overseeing the comprehensive compliance program for Roche Diagnostics Corporation. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, managing and overseeing the governance and strategic framework for compliance and business sustainability, working in conjunction with all other senior leaders across the organization, to support the Roche Diagnostics US organization and ensure sustainable growth. You will effectively foster and further strengthen a culture of integrity, drive compliance risk and opportunity management and state of the art compliance programs, foster continuous improvement of the compliance and business sustainability processes, supporting the organization with an effective and proactive business oriented approach. You will lead a team of compliance professionals which will be in charge of providing advice and guidance across the organization on matters related to compliance.You will report directly to the General Counsel of Roche Diagnostics Corporation. You will have dotted line reporting to the Head Compliance Diagnostics and be a member of the Diagnostics Compliance Leadership Team. This will foster a deep and timely understanding of all activities and a proactive and effective co-creation of compliant and sustainable solutions.The primary responsibilities of the position include:• Design, represent and implement enterprise-wide compliance strategy, objectives and initiatives in Roche Diagnostics Corporation, based on the Group and Divisional compliance priorities as well as decisions of the Core Compliance Team, in close cooperation with the company leadership.• Refine, monitor, and ensure implementation of Roche’s Compliance Program in response to changes in the law, consult with department/program representatives to ensure programs effectiveness and support such efforts.• Drive a culture of compliance with appropriate tone from the top by senior company leaders.• Accountable for the operating model, the ways of working, and talent management of the Compliance function in Roche Diagnostics Corporation (including recruiting, developing, supporting and managing a team of high performing individuals providing guidance and coaching to develop the team’s skills and knowledge).• Serve as the subject matter expert for the organization in compliance matters as the enterprise-wide Chief Compliance Officer, driving and actively contributing from compliance perspective to any local initiatives as well as overseeing the development, review, updating, and implementation of compliance programs along with policies, procedures, business practices, and guidelines that are compliant with state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.• Key enabler of sustainable business operations by providing highest quality compliance advice that includes the identification, management and improvement of key compliance risks across the organization to support risk management and compliance assurance.• Accountable for the performance of compliance risk assessments and related ongoing compliance monitoring and auditing activities.• Accountable for the design and implementation of the training programs and compliance education of Roche Diagnostics Corporation employees.• Lead the use and implementation of an ethics/compliance reporting system for employees to report concerns and obtain assistance.• Respond to alleged violations of law, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and the Code of Conduct, and ensure proper reporting of violations (or possible violations) in accordance with law and regulatory requirements, as well as Roche internal processes.• Lead compliance investigations in Roche Diagnostics Corporation and affiliates, as applicable.• Proactively work with stakeholders to recognize and analyze the root cause of non-compliance, or specific challenges and concerns about achieving compliance in order to identify appropriate remediation measures or solutions for the organization to implement.• Support the maintenance of records documenting Roche's compliance-related activities, including, but not limited to, audits, investigations, and compliance-related training and education.• Collaborate with other members of the Roche Compliance Community, specifically North American Roche affiliates (striving for oneRoche approach when it adds value) and in the Group and Divisional Compliance organizations (representing the voice and needs of Roche Diagnostics Corporation).• Contributing to good relationships with regulatory/industry bodies, raising the standards for ethical business, promoting regulatory convergence, and increasing digital health readiness.Who You Are• A minimum of 10+ years of direct compliance experience in a Compliance department of a healthcare company (Diagnostics, Medical Device, Pharma/Biotech)• At least 5 to 8 years’ experience leading/transforming a team and successfully managing and developing people• B.S. or B.A. in finance, business, law, political science, accounting• Specific Skills/Expertise:• Passionate and decisive business leader with high ethical and integrity standards. You have high ethical and integrity standards.• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the healthcare compliance and regulatory environment including the Anti-Kickback Statute, with an in-depth understanding of the applicable Safe Harbors, False Claims Act, FDCA, FTC, and other applicable federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, guidance, and policy.• Outstanding interpersonal skills, including establishing rapport, building trusted relationships, and engendering confidence at all levels of the organization.• Excellent judgment, particularly in determining the significance of compliance matters; effectively measuring, minimizing, and mitigating risk; and in evaluating risk within the context of other business considerations.• Proven leadership and managerial abilities with an established record of accomplishment of success and achieving results. Demonstrating a clear commitment to people development and effective mentoring; promoting a culture of trust and support. You have a track record in directly or indirectly leading virtual teams in multicultural and matrix environments.• Willingness and ability to deliver a consistent message in the face of pressure or adversity.• Ability to encourage transparent and connected culture between the Legal and Compliance Department and business stakeholders.This position is based on-site at our Indianapolis campus and uses a hybrid working model.The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $188,700 to $350,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
