Overview

Sage Dental is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Compliance to oversee compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as industry regulations related to dental healthcare delivery and business operations. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive compliance program, including HIPAA, OSHA, fraud and abuse prevention, and internal auditing procedures. We are looking for an expert in healthcare compliance, a strong communicator, and a collaborative leader with a proactive approach to risk management. The selected candidate must be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to work quickly in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee the company-wide compliance program, ensuring alignment with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Develop and maintain compliance-related policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guide team members and affiliated practices.
  • Oversight of OSHA, CDC, EPA, and state dental compliance rules and regulations for all Sage Dental offices.
  • Oversight of the reporting, investigation, and resolution of compliance incidents, ensuring timely documentation and communication to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Manage the Patient Quality Assurance (PQA) team, as well as insurance carrier compliance.
  • Work with Sage Dental vendors for clinical supplies, ensuring all dental offices maintain compliance with biomedical waste, OSHA and radiation regulations.
  • Participate in the opening of new and acquired locations.
  • Ensure compliance policies and procedures are accurate and updated.
  • Schedule and chair monthly Clinical Compliance meetings.
  • Conduct initial and annual safety and compliance audits for Sage offices.
  • Create and present compliance training materials for onboarding of new employees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Healthcare Administration, or Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role; dental industry and DSO experience strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Experience leading internal investigations, audits, and regulatory responses.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive cultural alignment around compliance.
  • Critical thinking skills, ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills.
