Sodexo is seeking an Imaging Service Engineer 3 for Guthrie Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY. This person will inspect, repair, maintain, and calibrate basic diagnostic imaging equipment, devices, systems, and instruments. Interact on a routine basis with other clinical health providers in the identification of technology-based problems and solutions.  Also, train and mentor junior engineers. 

 

About Guthrie Lourdes Hospital:

 

For more than a century, people in the Binghamton area have turned to Lourdes for compassionate and personalized care. This legacy continues today at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital, a 197-bed acute care facility that joined the Guthrie health care system in February 2024. Guthrie Lourdes is home to a surgery center, cancer center and birthing center. We also offer infusion services, laboratory services, complete imaging and radiology services, and mental health services. In addition, our hospice and home care teams provide care to patients in their homes. Unique to the region, Guthrie Lourdes operates two mobile mammography vans, two mobile dental vans and a mobile medical van.

Today, one of the longest established group practices in the country, Guthrie, has close to 1,000 primary and specialty care physicians and advanced practice practitioners and has more than 1.5 million patients visit each year in 29 communities in Pennsylvania and New York. What You'll Do

The ideal Imaging Service Engineer 3 will have outstanding customer service and communication skills, as well as a strong commitment to delivering excellent repair services in an expedient manner. Experience with high level imaging devices is a must. 

 

  • Ensure all medical equipment is maintained in a quality and timely manner.
  • Repair, maintain and calibrate medical imaging devices, in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical imaging devices.
  • Specific experience with the following medical devices or equipment: Siemens MRI and MRI Portables, Linear Accelerators, Hologic Mammography, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, Carestream- Radiology Room, Fluoroscopy, Phillips C-Arm, Phillips/ Carestream X-Ray, and some Cath Lab. OEC training or Certification, and Clinical Asset Management is preferred.

What You Bring

  • Experience repairing, maintaining and calibrating medical imaging devices including Hologic Mammography, X-rays, Siemens MRI, and other imaging equipment.
  • 7+ years' experience in an imaging role.
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical imaging devices.
  • Prior knowledge of renowned medical equipment, preferably Philips, GE, Carestream, Hologic, Siemens, etc.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation schedule as required

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment

Minimum Functional Experience - 7 years of imaging equipment repair and maintenance within a healthcare environment and/or entry level of formalized training and/or equivalent military training. Significant factory-level training of imaging equipment contributing to the effectiveness of the organization. Preferred CRES nationally
