About the Role

Sprig offers a world-class product experience platform that empowers top businesses to truly understand how their users experience their product.

As part of Sprig’s AI team you will build the features that allow product researchers and PMs to understand their users at scale. This includes AI analysis of always-on session replays, an incredibly rich source of user behavior data. We are the first in the industry to organize and distill the most important information from this data source that is otherwise impossible to parse at scale. This role will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the critical backend AI systems powering features such as this.

This role is based in San Francisco with three days working in office.

Your Impact

  • Work as part of our high-output engineering team and jump in early to develop a world-class product.

  • Own the development and deployment of the end-to-end backend systems powering Sprig’s critical AI features at scale.

  • Orchestrate backend data stores, services, and pipelines with high breadth and depth.

  • Implement state-of-the-art AI algorithms using modern LLMs and AI tech stacks.

  • Contribute to product roadmap discussions as we grow and evolve the product.

  • Be a cross-functional leader across the engineering organization. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other various functions.

Your Strengths

  • 8+ years of software engineer experience with focus on platform, backend, data infrastructure, or distributed computing at large scale.

  • Strong experience with the technologies we use or equivalents: Kubernetes, Postgres, ClickHouse, Redis, Kafka, gRPC, REST, and AWS services.

  • Deep experience with one or more of the languages we use in the backend: Python, Typescript, and Golang.

  • Urgency to deliver consistent and high-quality code and features in a startup environment with sometimes ambiguous requirements. This is a hands-on role.

  • Ability to execute on both day-to-day technical work and multi-quarter planning.

  • Experience with and desire to continue technical mentorship for other engineers.

  • Hunger for continuously learning and applying yourself to brand new problems.

  • Sharp written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with others and document technical work.

Employee Pay Disclosure

The salary range for this full-time position is $220,000 - $260,000 + Equity + Benefits. Our cash compensation ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for San Francisco, CA. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
