Job Description

The Community Impact Intern will give a very broad stroke view of STCU’s Community Impact department, home to our corporate philanthropy, Here for Good Foundation, Volunteers Count program, and government and public affairs work. Responsibilities will include assisting the Community Impact team in research, writing, and administrative support on projects, including donations stewardship, support for our Volunteers Count program, support for special events, and research and written updates around policy issues that impact the credit union. Duties include: event preparation and event follow up, storage room organization, writing assignments, research and analysis, data entry, and compiling and summarizing material on various, complex topics.

This position is fully in-person (Liberty Lake, WA).

Hours per Week:   Average of 15 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Opportunity for full-time work over the summer.

Beginning Date: End of May or beginning of June

Duration:  Summer 2025 – Winter 2025, with the possibility of extension

Car Needed: Yes

Mileage Reimbursement: Yes, *excluding travel to and from the work location

Work Location: Liberty Lake, WA 

Applicable Majors: Marketing, Advertising, Communications

Qualifications

Required

  • Candidate needs to be an enrolled college student for the entirety of the internship and seeking credits, through Spring 2025 (Masters students ok).
  • Currently working on a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Political Science, Government Relations, Public Administration, Economics or Law, or similar.
  • Versatile to work in a small team as a contributor and self-starter
  • Ability to research, take complex information and synthesize it into high level executive summaries
  • Organized and good at helping others get organized
  • Excellent verbal, organizational and writing skills. 
  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Forms.
  • Hard worker with a fun, can-do attitude.

Preferred 

  • Community involvement, volunteer experience, and/or prior office experience.
  • Knowledge and passion for government relations and advocacy related topics.
  • Previous experience with research, writing, or data analysis.
  • Previous experience in public policy or government work or internships (i.e.: Congressional internship, Legislature Internship, campaign experience, etc.)
