Job Description
The Data Governance Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the success of enterprise data governance initiatives. This role is responsible for implementing governance policies, driving data stewardship engagement, and operationalizing data quality and metadata management processes. This role acts as the key link between business needs and the technical data designs to meet these needs. This role is skilled at listening deeply to understand core needs and business processes, translating them into the language of data.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and collaborator who excels at coordinating across business and technical teams to ensure the effective adoption of governance best practices. A central focus of this role is establishing and nurturing a Data Steward Community of Practice, ensuring data owners and stewards are empowered with the knowledge, tools, and processes to maintain high data integrity and usability. This role works closely with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure governance frameworks are effectively applied in day-to-day operations.
