Job Description

Purpose:

Under the Direction of the NCTM Associate Director for Operations, the Research Engineer will be responsible for the supporting workforce development and contract research projects at National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing. The Engineer will identify, analyze, and resolve technical problems in the NCTM laboratories and lead initiatives for Workforce Development Training. The Engineer will display initiative, independent judgement, and project management skills to complete these tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead workforce programs, such as summer camps or apprenticeship programs.
  • Creates or updates programming for NCTM programs.
  • Networks with potential partners to market workforce development programs.
  • Prep and execution of selected workforce training and research projects.
  • Assists NCTM scientists with the implementation of research projects.
  • Prepares SOPs, batch records and research reports.
  • Trains undergraduate and graduate students to operate and maintain analytical, upstream, and downstream processing lab equipment.
  • Develops and modernizes teaching materials and prepares research lab equipment, samples, and other products required by NCTM researchers for teaching and research.
  • Execute engineering studies to support course development.
  • Leads the development of new laboratory modules.
  • Write technical reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six years of related experience.
