Working on the Platform Department

We're not just building software but scaling the infrastructure to measure diet quality as a vital sign and improve food as medicine outcomes across the healthcare industry. 

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Experience Team within our Platform Department, helping build a unified experience for our members. 

You’ll collaborate with a skilled team of engineers, researchers, designers, and product professionals to design and implement key components of our product and platform—making a meaningful impact on the lives of Americans through food.

What You'll Get to Do

• Ownership: Lead the technical side of the planning, design, and requirements process for creating a unified customer experience.

• Leadership: Review fellow software engineers’ code for correctness, style, and information security concerns. Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to more junior team members.

• Velocity: Constantly look to improve the performance, maintainability, and operations of the Tangelo codebase by via refactoring and upgrade projects.

• Quality: Drive operational excellence by improving the instrumentation, monitoring, and alerting of your team’s production software.

• Communication: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to work closely across teams, time zones, and dependencies.

• Impact: Demonstrate sound business judgment, with a proven ability to influence others and make excellent business and technical decisions.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a focus on building a variety of front-end applications.

• Strong practical coding skills, ideally in React or similar front-end frameworks/technologies, with expertise in service-oriented architectures. 

• A customer-first mindset, ensuring the end-user is at the center of every decision.

• A customer-centric approach to product development, focusing on creating robust, scalable, accessible, and user-friendly solutions.

• 0-to-1 experience, with a strong inclination toward shipping quickly, learning iteratively, and maintaining a high standard of quality.

• A proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments, working seamlessly with cross-functional teams and partners.

Preferred Skills for Strong Candidates

• REST or GRPC APIs.

• Deployment, monitoring, and alerting of systems.

• HIPPA-compliant environment.

Compensation Philosophy

The compensation range listed represents the total cash value, which includes a combination of base salary and an annual cash bonus for non-sales roles or variable compensation for sales roles. This range does not account for equity, which is included in the overall compensation package.

Compensation estimates are based on market data about the role and level, while individual compensation offers will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
