WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

 

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Digital Content Intern who is passionate about GRAMMY U. This is the perfect opportunity if you're looking to gain hands-on experience in video production starting from conceptualization, through the production phase, to the final editing process. Ideally, the intern should have a passion for working in the music industry within digital content or marketing fields. The intern will be responsible for assisting with the ongoing production of video for GRAMMY U’s website, social platforms and other outlets as assigned by the GRAMMY U team. The right person will be familiar with audio and video editing software (Adobe Creative Suite tools, Final Cut Pro, etc.) as well as have an editing eye for social media content.

 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

 

The GRAMMY U Digital Content Intern is responsible for working with the GRAMMY U Sr. Director, Project Manager and Membership Manager on creating digital content for GRAMMY U’s social channels. Applicants must adhere to the Code of Conduct set forth by the Recording Academy.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the GRAMMY U national team to edit and produce high-quality videos for various GRAMMY U initiatives, including event recaps, social media features and other promotional materials.
  • Edit short-form and long-form content videos.
  • Collaborate on pre-production tasks such as planning, scriptwriting, and storyboarding.
  • Assist in the creation of video content as needed. 
  • Assist with post-production tasks, including video editing, color grading, and sound design.
  • Implement editing techniques, transitions and effects to create a strong narrative that reflects GRAMMY U’s mission.
  • Work with GRAMMY U Digital Marketing Committee to meet content deadlines as it relates to GRAMMY U initiatives.
  • Work with internal Digital Media, Social Media and Creative Services departments on various projects as it relates to GRAMMY U. 
  • Assist with the set-up, operation, and maintenance of equipment for onsite productions.
  • Assist in copywriting for content as needed.
  • Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions for new video concepts and campaigns. 
  • Maintain an organized video library and manage files.
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Applicant must be a current GRAMMY U member that if familiar with GRAMMY U’s initiatives and programs. Sophomore, junior, or incoming graduate student standing is required.
  • Open to individuals enrolled in a 2- or 4-year university, with at least two semesters remaining before graduation, as well as graduate students, preferably pursuing a degree in a related field.
  • Hours are part-time (20-24 hours a week)
  • Letter from school stating that intern will receive college credit for the Recording Academy internship.
  • Basic understanding of video production process including pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe suite or Final Cut Pro. Additional design programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of social media best practices and working knowledge of creating content for major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  • Able to create a dedicated workspace with a well-functioning computer, with the ability to work on a mobile device as needed.
  • High attention to detail and organization, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in standard computer programs is required (Excel, Word, Google Drive).
  • Occasional nights and weekend hours may be required depending on local GRAMMY U events and initiatives.
  • Experience/skills in one or more of these areas a plus:
  • Website developer
  • Social media
  • Writing (school newspaper, editorial, features)
  • Multi-lingual
