Summary of Job Duties:

The Research Assistant (RA) will support research efforts in the Department of Pediatrics by conducting data collection, entry, and cleaning. This position will also coordinate various projects within the field of hematology/oncology.


Qualifications:

​Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of research experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities;

  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent PC skills with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Package (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).

  • Strong expertise in molecular and cell biology research, including experimental design, execution, data analysis, and interpretation.

  • Ability to multiple projects.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts data collection in accordance with the study protocol and maintains records in an IRB-compliant system.

  • Organizes materials to conduct fidelity observations and classroom data from various community sites and codes the data according to reliability.

  • Demonstrates and maintains 95% reliability in fidelity of data coding. Flexible schedule and ability to travel required. This requires working with research staff to create data collection tools as needed. Data entry and data cleaning on various projects will be accomplished with fewer than 10% errors in work.

  • Coordinates study efforts, including assistance with coordinating community partners, scheduling research observations in accordance with research protocol, and monitoring progress in relation to project timeline.

  • Monitors multiple participant sites and timelines to ensure fulfillment of all required deliverables.

  • Creates promotional or educational materials with given content for use in the project.

  • Provides support for community implementation efforts, including coordination with community partners.

  • Provides logistical support for events and trainings around the state, including identifying and arranging training/event locations and vendors.

  • Provides oversight of print, production, collating, and packaging of project materials. General office duties for principal investigator, including compiling data and preparing reports, and creating poster presentations for conferences. Other routine clerical duties include answering phones, copying, faxing, filing, and distributing reports.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
