Overview

Navitas is ready to invest in you!  We are seeking a Quality Engineer in Ann Arbor, Michigan that will work as part of the Quality team to ensure the Quality Management System complies with ISO 9001 and customer requirements and that parts produced meet customer and internal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and uphold the Navitas Quality Policy and Quality Management System
  • Participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning activities, including the determination of appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems
  • Collaborate with Navitas’ customer and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA) and Control Plans
  • Participate in pre-launch production trial runs
  • Develop and submit First Article Inspection documents for new product launches to meet customer requirements
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to the quality system that improve quality performance, increase customer satisfaction, and/or simplify processes to reduce costs
  • Ensure gages are calibrated, as required
  • Work with Supplier Quality Engineering to ensure incoming supplier quality performance
  • Manage warranty returns as necessary
  • Practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions to leadership
  • Ensure punctuality, reliability and acceptable attendance
  • Follow Company Policies and Quality System Processes
  • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
  • Manufacturing Quality experience and/or formal problem-solving studies preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be comfortable supporting US military-funded work and building products for military testing and use.
  • Ability to read and follow process documentation / assembly prints / specifications
  • Strong familiarity and experience with manufacturing processes
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with statistical analysis software preferred
  • Must be able to travel based on business needs (less than 20%)

ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the employee must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
