What You'll Do

We are currently seeking a Benefit and Wellness Specialist to provide support under a shared services model and as part of a team, will help ensure HR processes run smoothly and efficiently.  This role will be responsible for assisting in the administration and operations of all benefit and wellness programs across the region, with a focus on leave administration.  The Specialist will partner with the Manager and lead internal processes, provide support to team members, liaison with our third-party vendors and spearhead special projects related to benefits and wellness.

 

This role supports Amer Sports team members across the U.S. consisting of multiple brands and various locations (warehouse, factories and administrative offices).  The Specialist must be able to multi-task and juggle competing priorities in our busy department.  Specifics duties will include:

  • Lead internal leave processes (FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA, parental leave, etc.) working collaboratively with Benefits Manager, HR partners, team members, and third-party administrator
  • Lead all leave of absence protocol and provide direction to HR partners and team members on leave of absence matters.  Document, update and communicate internal process of all leave of absences to HR partners and team members as necessary.
  • Establish best practices for overall leave administration. Participate in leave of absence webinars/trainings to remain current on all leave of absence compliance topics and best practices
  • Fund employee/employer contributions directly with third-party vendor for HSA (bi-weekly) and commuter benefits (monthly)
  • Oversee and audit employer and employee Health Savings Account funding audit comparing contributions in Ev5, H&W and HSA vendor. Resolve all discrepancies with ADP, payroll and HSA vendor
  • Administer Wellness Program. Manage eligibility file, internal communications, participant inquiries and ADP credit process
  • ADP benefit maintenance. Work collaboratively with ADP to ensure all benefit offering rules are set-up accurately. Submit, monitor and resolve service requests with ADP on benefit discrepancies.  Run reports weekly to identify system errors to research and resolve.
  • Conduct monthly audit and processing of various benefit invoices; resolve all discrepancies
  • Reconcile weekly 401(k) audit reports; resolve discrepancies if necessary
  • Calculate domestic partner benefit pre- and post-tax premiums and imputed income; ensure benefit database is updated with accurate domestic partner rates
  • Participate in various weekly calls with benefits broker, ADP, and HR team; communicate benefit related matters to HR Team as necessary
  • Collaborate on yearly open enrollment processes and communication; craft benefit communications
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field and 5+ years of benefit, HR specialist or HR customer support experience in a Human Resources department.  We are looking for a candidate that demonstrates the ability to follow existing processes while also questioning current practices in the pursuit of greater efficiency when practical.  Qualified candidates should exhibit attention to detail, the importance of accuracy and strong organizational skills.  Other qualifications include:

  • Demonstrates customer service attitude and maintains positive work relationships with team members; professional, positive attitude is a must
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are important
  • Good ability to work independently as well as be part of the larger team; flexible and adaptable in a fast-moving, results-oriented work environment
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to completing assigned tasks on a timely basis
  • Experience with and ability to manage confidential information
  • Ability to work standard 9:00 to 5:00 hours to ensure coverage for region
  • Proficiency in MS Office and a demonstrated technical aptitude
  • Prior hands-on experience with HR systems (preferably Workday)

A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is $70,000-85,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range reflects the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
