The US Campus Talent Acquisition (TA) team is responsible for attracting, engaging, assessing and hiring future leaders of the enterprise, through early career channels including internships and direct campus recruitment. American Express is seeking a seasoned leader who has the necessary background and experience to lead the Campus TA function across the US and continue our journey of a best-in-class recruitment function.
The Director, US Campus TA will be responsible driving an enterprise-wide strategy for early talent, in close partnership with the business. This leader will be responsible for creating compelling recruitment strategies, designed to secure the best early talent for the enterprise, leveraging innovative sourcing channels in parallel with exception operational rigor. The leader will focus on university relationships and other partnerships, and oversee initiatives and programs designed to target, attract, and hire early career talent.
This role is responsible for driving forward our recruitment strategy including enhancing our on-campus presence and building a consistent marketing and outreach experience, leveraging a broad range of partners, in person and virtual engagement. The Director will uplift our selection and assessment strategies, prioritizing a skills-first approach to talent identification along will developing relationships with critical senior leaders, and driving clarity on the partnership between Campus and the business. The candidate will need to have focus on operational excellence, continuing to enhance the end-to-end recruitment process for US Campus, ensuring impeccable operational rigor and control management.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Design and lead execution of early careers talent acquisition strategies across the enterprise for the US
Develop overall strategy to build and deliver a best-in-class candidate experience, through monitoring and measurement of the overall effectiveness/impact of the TA strategies, TA execution, and stakeholder/candidate satisfaction
Use data and analytics to drive the recruiting strategy, planning and process; lead with a risk and control management approach
Be a true brand ambassador, and partner with recruitment marketing team to develop an on-campus marketing strategy ranging from event activation ideas to social media to event collateral to event swag
Partner with Programs Center of Excellence within Campus TA to deliver a high quality and robust learning experience for interns and full time Campus hires in the US
Maintain high visibility, close partnerships and influence with senior leaders within business units and functions as well as other stakeholders including Colleague Strategic Partners and Colleague Total Rewards & Well-being
Be an expert in recruitment best practice and market trends, educating and influencing hiring leaders and stakeholders
Provide thought leadership and deep subject matter expertise to the enterprise, bringing best practices, views on the external talent
Qualify, select and manage relationships and performance partnerships
Provide thought leadership and leverage executive relationships to support US campus recruitment efforts
Promote and enhance the American Express’ colleague value proposition to the external market
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of Campus/University Recruitment experience
Demonstrated experience leading large Talent Acquisition teams
Deep understanding of the university recruitment and early careers environment in the US across multiple talent segments
Demonstrated experience designing and delivering early careers recruitment strategies
Exceptional people leadership
Deep operational recruitment leadership experience, with proven use of data and insight to drive operational effectiveness
Preferred Qualifications
Deep client service orientation combined with a strong sense of urgency, drive for results and business judgment
Excellent consultative, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills at the executive level
Strategic thinker coupled with a hands-on practical approach and the ability to translate ideas into solutions that deliver measurable results
Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead large-scale, complex initiatives
Shown ability to source, qualify, engage, assess and attract candidates, and to engage university recruitment partners in productive relationships
Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
