Some weeks 48 hours, other 32, averaging 40 hour weeksJob DescriptionServe as a Cybersecurity service provider analyst for an infrastructure program supporting a DoD client. Responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing, detecting, and responding to cyber events and incidents under supervision. Support dynamic cyber defense operations, including intrusion detection and prevention, and maintain situational awareness. Create, tune, and compile metrics for all security devices and document processes and procedures. Identify security issues and risks, developing mitigation plans as necessary. Work in a 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) environment, maintaining direct contact with client management to analyze and trend security log data from various devices.Basic QualificationsActive DoD issued Secret ClearanceCompTIA Security+ in handCertified Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) certification in hand (options below)3+ years of experience in incident handling, forensics, sensor alert tracking, or cybersecurity case management.1+ years of experience in a SOC.Proficiency with cybersecurity tools, including ArcSight, ACAS, or equivalent SIEM tools.Experience with cybersecurity forensics tools and methodologies.Knowledge of network ports and protocols.Experience with log review and analysis.High school diploma or GED.Ability to work a 12am-12pm or 12pm-12am shift, including some weekends.Additional Qualifications:Knowledge of industry, government, and DoD best practices, including awareness of new security solutions and threat vectors.Understanding of DoD system solutions to mitigate risks impacting IT security.Ability to monitor and analyze zero-day vulnerabilities.Skill in correlating disparate datasets to identify abnormal behavior.Ability to triage SIEM events and escalate indicators as necessary.Familiarity with NIST, federal, and DoD guidelines related to cybersecurity.Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.CCNA or Network+ Certification.Computing Environment Certification (e.g., McAfee, Blue Coat, RedHat, or Cisco).Certifications: One of the following DoD 8570 Certifications is REQUIRED:CEHCFRCCNA Cyber OpsCCNA-SecurityCySA+GCIAGCIHGICSPCloud+SCYBERPenTest+• Please note that as a contract employee of Apex Systems, benefits include the below with employee contribution*HealthDentalVisionLife Insurance; Short Term DisabilityHospitalization CoverageDirect DepositWeekly Pay PeriodsTraining and Development Programs401kReferral ProgramEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
