First Look: Associate Director, Programmatic Sales

The Arena Group is looking for an Associate Director, Programmatic Sales to join our growing team. You will be responsible for selling premium programmatic across our portfolio of brands. (PMP/PG) Selling programmatic offerings to advertising clients (agency trading desks and demand-side platforms). Cultivating successful, renewable, and high-growth relationships with major US advertisers and agencies. Working with marketing to create sales collateral; Working with internal stakeholders to develop post-campaign reports containing insights and analytics that reflect the value of The Arena Group offering; Driving top-line revenue growth.

The Arena Group’s expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $125,000 - $150,000 with additional commensurate commission variable compensation. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, education, experience, and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group’s total compensation and benefits available to its employees.

What You’ll Do

  • This person will be responsible for generating new programmatic advertising revenue & partnerships within the assigned list of accounts across all media channels, alongside growing existing relationships with major brands and trading desk partners. 
  • Build, maintain and manage relationships with clients, agencies, DSPs, and all other relevant demand sources.
  • Lead premium programmatic sales efforts (PMP/PG) working with a cross-functional team of company stakeholders (Client service managers, Direct IO Sales, Ad Operations, Marketing, Revenue Operations, Data, etc.) to drive programmatic revenue growth
  • Serve as an expert on key programmatic business trends, new technologies and best practices across the entertainment vertical. Be the expert in packaging and selling programmatic inventory across the entertainment vertical
  • Support direct sales team in structuring and selling successful hybrid (sponsorship and programmatic) deals
  • Productize data and media assets to ensure we are discoverable and top of mind for programmatic marketing partners and prospects, exchanges, trading desks, agency partners etc. 


What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of digital media experience with at least 3 years of direct experience in the programmatic media ecosystem (Agency, DSP, SSP, trading desk)
  • Self-motivated with a willingness and comfort working in a ‘startup’ and agile environment
  • Passion for programmatic advertising, and customer relationship management
  • Desire to be a subject matter expert within the organization, with the opportunity to help shape The Arena Groups programmatic sales strategy for the future
  • Strong working knowledge of the company's products, competitive products, and the market
  • Great strategic planning, organizational and creative thinking skills
  • The ideal candidate will have sales planning/account management experience and an interest in applying that knowledge to maintain and grow programmatic partnerships.
  • This individual will thrive in a collaborative environment and build valuable relationships across internal groups including direct sales, ad product, data studio, video partnerships, etc.
