Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Baker to join our team in Los Olivos, United States. As a Baker in our organization, you will be responsible for creating a wide variety of delicious baked goods, from artisanal bread to exquisite pastries. The ideal candidate will combine creativity with technical skill to produce high-quality products that delight our customers.

  • Prepare and bake a diverse range of bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to recipes and quality standards
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by kitchen management
  • Set up and maintain a clean and organized baking station
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of baked items
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Participate in menu development and suggest new baked goods or improvements to existing recipes
  • Train and mentor junior bakers or assistants as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of all back-of-house work areas, including refrigeration, baking equipment, and prep areas
  • Adapt to changing production needs and assist in other kitchen areas during peak times

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Baker in a high-volume restaurant or bakery setting
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, methods, and best practices
  • Proficiency in using various baking equipment and tools
  • Excellent understanding of different types of dough, batters, and pastries
  • Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • General knife handling skills and food safety knowledge
  • Creativity in decorating and presenting baked goods
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work weekends and early morning shifts
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs)
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and improve based on feedback
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school or professional baking certification is a plus
  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment
