About Carrier Relations:

Beam Carrier Solutions is an emerging business evolved from Beam’s technology and underwriting advantages. The business is being designed to share our agility with traditional employee group benefits insurance carriers in a variety of ways. 


What You Will Bring: 

As an Emerging business, Carrier Solutions needs a leader who operates with a balance of GM and growth mindsets. Each Carrier Solutions customer is strategic and unique, so a customer success obsessed leader adept in navigating complex enterprise relationships will thrive in the role. You will serve complex matrixed organizations at our Carrier Customers, and you will need to integrate with the internal Beam Carrier Solutions team, also matrixed, but relatively small. Prior experience with large technology installations within insurance companies would maximize your running start, and an understanding of the group benefits domain space would create immediate customer value.


This role is foundational, and will begin as a purely matrixed role, reporting into the SVP of Insurance Product. Part of the role’s remit is to assess and build our Carrier Solutions capabilities as we discover the scalable business model.

What You Will Do:
  • Establish and ensure customer engagement and success principles embodied by Beam Carrier Solutions team:
  • Guide and support Beam Carrier Solutions team on interaction styles, increasing customer empathy, avoiding tension. Set the tone, model the behavior, coach the team.
  • Develop engagement framework between Executive, Solutions, and Operations functions at customer
  • Administer relationship touchpoints:
  • Partner with Beam ELT on Executive strategy and touchpoints, designing and driving engagements that advance our objectives
  • Own relationship touchpoints with decision makers and key stakeholders across the business and product teams at the CarrierDesign and administer Beam Carrier Solutions cadences, resourcing, and internal coordination
  • Partner with Solutions and Delivery team program leads in support of their program management
  • Bring Beam teams into structural alignment to support Carrier Solutions, right-sizing the engagements to leverage existing efficiencies but solve for customer need
  • Maintain customer profile:
  • Determine and align program against customer goals and priorities
  • Understand customer operations: corporate, field
  • Understand customer organization: org charts, R&R, decisioning processes, rituals and artifacts
  • Maintain commercial terms:
  • Ensure contractual adherence, deliver financial reporting, and coordinate audits or discovery activities
  • Administer customer reporting and analysis to optimize bi-directional deal value
  • Program reporting and ownership:
  • For Customer, Beam Board, Beam Investors: structure and deliver monthly and quarterly program updates and relationship reviews
  • For Customer: structure and deliver regular reporting on Beam’s selling and servicing of co-owned products
  • For Beam Management: structure and deliver weekly program metrics, monthly MBR metrics (including full P&L evaluation), risk reporting, forecasting, and plans.
  • Collect customer feedback (quantitative and qualitative) from all customer teams and levels, parsing and collating it to Beam Carrier Solutions teams to enhance customer empathy and value delivery


What Skills Will Help You Be Successful:
  • A college degree or equivalent experience at employee benefits businesses
  • 5+ years experience working with employee benefits products and insurance
  • Expertise in relationship management, including building new and maintaining existing relationships
  • Experience partnering with multiple stakeholders across organizations including product and engineering, actuarial, legal and compliance, operations, and revenue
  • Critical-thinking skills to operate both tactically and strategically
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project management abilities, with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment


$152,300 - $243,700 a year
The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.
