Mid-Weight Designer

Are you passionate about turning complex ideas into powerful visual stories? Do you thrive on solving problems through creativity and want your work to have a real impact? We’re looking for a Mid-Weight Designer to join our close-knit team at Canvas8.

If you have a strong eye for detail, a love of storytelling, and a drive to create meaningful and innovative work, we want to hear from you. This is an incredible opportunity for a talented designer with experience in layout and editorial design. You're comfortable working across different mediums – from presentation design to videos and animations, across online and print – and know how to make each shine. You’ll be at the heart of a collaborative, curious, and talented team – working alongside researchers, strategists, and fellow designers to deliver exceptional creative solutions.

About us

We are Canvas8, a strategic insights practice with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore and Manila. We help our clients understand people so they can make better business decisions.

Our work investigates the hidden insights in everyday life – from the psychology of boredom to teenage make-up rituals and why Barbiecore is a Gen Y thing – and makes them meaningful for brands. Our team combines disciplines and skills – from psychology to journalism, anthropology to behavioural economics. What unites them is a desire to understand people and a passion for delivering outstanding work.

About the role

Great design is at the heart of Canvas8’s ability to communicate strategic insights and tell compelling stories. It translates rigorous analysis into creative inspiration in a way that’s intuitive, coherent, and memorable.

As a designer, you’ll transform complex insights into visually compelling narratives, working across consultancy and membership teams to produce high-quality outputs like visual reports, campaign assets, videos, and presentations. Collaborating closely with researchers, strategists, and fellow designers, you’ll ensure our creative work is both beautiful and meaningful. You’ll also help evolve our brand identity and explore new design solutions that push creative boundaries.

More than a visual executor, you’ll be a creative partner – contributing ideas and shaping the creative approach from project inception. Whether refining data-heavy reports into engaging editorial designs or conceptualising innovative ways to tell stories, your input will add value and enhance the impact of our work.
