Senior Sales Engineer

About the Role

As a Sales Engineer at WithClutch, you will be a pivotal member of our sales team, responsible for bridging the gap between our solutions and our customers' needs.

You will combine your technical expertise with your industry knowledge and strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate the value of our platform to potential and existing clients

This role requires a deep understanding of our product capabilities, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to establish strong relationships both externally and internally.

What You’ll Do

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Have a full understanding of the problems we are solving with our technology and be able to assign our solutions/features to the specific pains our clients are feeling.

  • Be able to autonomously configure demo instances for lending and deposits and conduct the associated product demos.

  • Have participated in a full sales lifecycle where you have played a contributing role.

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Have run at least 2 full sales cycles where you have played the leading role including solution design.

  • Be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of our solutions, integration paradigms, eco-system partners and product roadmap.

  • Develop deep interpersonal relationships with cross functional partners including by not limited to: product, engineering, design, compliance, implementations and customer success that contribute to the overall success of Clutch.

Within 9 months, you will:

  • Obtained the status of “trusted advisor” to our internal teams and customers

  • Contribute to the team by recommending process improvements, enhanced talk tracks and demo collateral.

  • Will act as an advocate for our product and our customers

What You’ll Bring

  • Sales Acumen: Proven experience in a technical sales or sales engineering role, preferably within the fintech or SaaS industry.

  • Technical Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex customer requirements and propose effective solutions.

  • Customer Focus: Dedication to understanding and addressing customer needs with a customer-first mindset.

  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive team environment.

  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment where priorities and tasks can change rapidly.

  • Travel: The ability to travel (both domestically and internationally) up to 50% of the time with little notice.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Deep knowledge of one or more of the following: real-time core banking systems, online banking platforms, deposit account origination systems, risk fraud and compliance tools and modern consumer loan origination systems.

    • Prior Credit Union experience, inclusive of working for a vendor/partner.

    • 3-5 years of experience working in a sales or solutions engineering capacity for a startup in high growth mode.
