Procurement Manager

Job Description

The Procurement Manager will manage the purchasing strategy of all raw materials; partnering with business leaders to ensure material supply while managing inventory levels. This position plays a key role in a customer driven supply chain organization charged with identifying, implementing, and enhancing successful methods of delivering enterprise-wide results. The Procurement Manager will provide meaningful, data driven analysis to plant and executive leadership to ensure that business objectives are met or exceeded for lean purchasing methods and working capital management. This position will drive supply chain cost and capability initiatives across raw materials.

This is a multi-site management position. The Procurement Manager will oversee a site in Rocky Mt, VA and Fort Myers, FL. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and strategy creation across a multisite procurement team
  • Maintain and develop relationships with strategic suppliers supporting the operation
  • Develop and support inventory and DIO goals
  • Lead the development of objectives and execution plans to drive optimization of material flow improvements within and across manufacturing plants to support cost out, inventory reduction, and working capital goals
  • Drive supply chain cost and capability initiatives across raw materials by working closely with the Supply Chain planning teams to identify and implement opportunities for positive working capital improvements
  • Collaborate with Product Management team on rationalization initiatives along with new product launches
  • Maintain supplier accountability with quality and On-Time and Full metrics
  • Accountable for adherence to supply chain and cost reduction targets, monitoring progress, increasing supply dependability and flexibility, reviewing schedule, and resolving cross departmental problems
  • Maintain effective communication with demand planning, supply chain planning, customer service, purchasing, quality and related manufacturing functions to provide a leadership role in maximizing customer service through consistent material availability
  • Consistently lead first with safety to demonstrate that it is embraced as a value. Lead team to complete safety objectives and ensure a safe and productive work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, etc. or equivalent education and work experience. MBA preferred
  • Lean, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of Materials Management /Supply Chain leadership experience with a successful track record of driving change and delivering results
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership or management position within a manufacturing industry required
  • Demonstrated project management and continuous improvement experience
  • In depth knowledge of distribution and warehouse functions, work group dynamics, measurement systems (metrics), and continuous proves improvement techniques
  • Experience utilizing and understanding ERP / DRP / TMS / WMS systems
  • Excellent people management skills, including conflict resolution, coaching, and developing others, promoting teamwork and performance management
  • Strong decision-making skills with ability to link business objectives to business activities
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of urgency
  • Hands on experience with developing, implementing, and managing material handling operations
  • Demonstrated project integration, planning, communication, and documentation skills to oversee and prepare project team resources requirements in collaboration with cross-functional departments
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build strong, positive rapport with associates in a team environment; ability to lead through personal example that communicates integrity, core values, and consistency in decision-making
  • Ability to implement site standards and best practices to include policies, procedures, and workflow development
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment and to manage multiple projects/priorities.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity
  • Travel required as necessary to support business needs (<20%)
