Role Description

  • We have formed strategic partnerships with several leading tech companies, including ServiceNow, to drive transformation from a solid tech platform. With ServiceNow, we are establishing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) located in India (Pune and Bangalore), which will support our transformation priorities. ServiceNow is integral to the creation of digital workflows throughout the bank’s global operations and will help us simplify operations, empower employees, improve customer service, and bring innovation to market faster. 
  • You will be joining the Foundational Platforms team responsible for strategy and development for the core, cross-technology software tool sets of IT Service Management, Asset Management and Risk Management. These products are vital to friction-less processes that are reliant on golden source data, and to enable intelligent use and management of the application/service estate. Foundational Platforms is responsible for driving improvement in the governance processes and exposing the data necessary to capitalize on analytics and automation opportunities. 
  • The Scrum Master is responsible for ensuring a team lives agile values and principles and follows the agreed processes and practices to allow the team to continually improve their performance. The Scrum Master leads from a position of influence, taking a servant-leadership stance i.e., demonstrates a leadership philosophy in which the main goal of the leader is to serve. Responsibilities include proactively removing blockers to team success, establishing an environment where the team can be effective, and protecting the team from outside interruptions and distractions. The Scrum Master also acts to ensure a good relationship between the team and Product Owner as well as others outside the team, facilitating meetings and Scrum events, and working with the Product Owner to make sure the upcoming book of work (backlog) is sufficiently defined and ready for the creation of the next product increment (sprint).

Your key responsibilities

  • Ensuring maximum effectiveness of the team, by developing a productive culture which focuses on continuous improvements, visualizing and measure team flow, and ensuring impediments to the team are quickly removed
  • Lives and promotes agile mindset and culture (Agile values and principles, scrum Values)
  • Facilitate team events within Scrum and represents the team outside of its own function
  • Surfacing up team metrics and helping the team understand their metrics and self-reflect
  • Encouraging a psychologically safe environment for the team
  • Foster team growth and drive continuous improvement
  • Supporting/Coaching the product owner and backlog development
  • Enable the team to actively own and surface dependencies and risks or escalate in a timely manner.

Your skills and experience 

  • 10+ years overall IT experience and out of which 2+ years Scrum Master roles in a software driven environment, ideally banking or a similarly regulated environment
  • 4+ years’ experience of working in an Agile environment practicing Scrum or Kanban (Lean Agile Practitioner), putting Agile Manifesto and Principles into practice within teams and organizations
  • Experience in coaching, teaching, and mentoring of Agile practices
  • Certified practitioner to enable and train teams on the best Agile practices
  • Experience using collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, GIT, etc.
  • Experience in other Agile approaches such as Kanban, XP, etc.
  • Very strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Experience in SAFe
  • Experience/Knowledge in ServiceNow will be preferred
  • Experience in Transformation projects will be preferred
