Job Description

As a team we are handling main questions, like - How can we increase the thoughtfulness and scalability of our loan originations modeling approach? How can we handle important issues in the lending space today like bias, fairness and explainable AI?

Reporting into Engineering Director and by joining our team in ESS, you'll lead a team of engineers responsible for developing and operationalizing Analytics products. Also, as lead, you'll shape the tech culture and be an active voice in shaping our products and software architecture.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the engineering team, provide mentorship and guidance to a diverse skillset.
  • Lead complex software development projects by playing role in planning, systems design.
  • Oversee the build of some of our boldest client-facing applied machine learning models and optimized strategies.
  • Accomplish the technical strategy for product development, including technology selection and innovation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with geographically distributed cross-functional teams.
  • Work with our Product Owners and end-users to pilot our products, and manage budget and timelines.
  • Hyper-focus on establishing a culture of developing high-quality models and software through rapid data-driven decision-making, automation, and streamlined processes.
  • Set design principles, coding standards and development practices for your team to follow.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • Around 8 or more years of experience with Object-Oriented Programming and asynchronous programming, including couple of years in leadership role, managing teams.
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related field.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Experience with production software development in React.js.
  • Experience with Python, Java, and other backend technologies.
  • Experience with Scrum and Agile processes.
  • Knowledge or experience with C++ and ability to investigate legacy C++ codebases.
  • Kubernetes and Helm knowledge or experience (advantage).
  • Experience using Docker in development workflows (not required but preferred).
  • Comfortable supporting troubleshooting and evaluation of production issues.
  • Test writing discipline in standard development processes.
  • Experience or familiarity with machine learning models and optimization strategies.
