This is an on-call casual position responsible for responding to disasters in support of state and federal government efforts. The Physician may be deployed for periods ranging from 14 to 120 days to areas impacted by significant disasters across the United States and its territories. Compensation rates will vary depending on the specific disaster and location.
Key responsibilities include utilizing your medical expertise to mitigate and treat injuries and illnesses, ensuring appropriate care, and making accurate disease diagnoses. You will be responsible for requesting necessary tests, scheduling follow-up visits, and referring patients to specialists as needed. The role also involves coordinating medical referrals and admissions, monitoring patient progress, and managing final dispositions. Additionally, you will be required to stabilize patients and coordinate evacuations to higher levels of care when necessary.
