Controls Engineer Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer with deep experience in Tridium Niagara technologies to lead the design, programming, and deployment of building automation systems (BAS) for commercial and industrial facilities. This role will help launch and grow our new Building Automation practice, leveraging our IT and physical security service capabilities to deliver integrated smart building solutions.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is highly proficient in the Niagara Framework (including Niagara 4 and Niagara AX) and comfortable delivering complete building automation solutions, from design through commissioning and ongoing support.
Controls Engineer Responsibilities:
· Design, program, and implement building automation systems using the Tridium Niagara Framework.
· Configure and integrate systems using protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and KNX.
· Collaborate with customers, project managers, and internal teams to deliver tailored BAS solutions.
· Create system graphics, dashboards, and user interfaces within Niagara.
· Commission and troubleshoot BAS systems on-site, including integration with HVAC, lighting, and other subsystems, in conjunction with contractors responsible for the edge systems connected to Niagara controllers.
· Ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and cybersecurity requirements.
· Provide post-installation support, training, and documentation for end-users.
· Participate in continuous improvement of building automation design standards and best practices.
Controls Engineer Qualifications:
· 3+ years of experience designing and implementing building automation systems using Tridium Niagara.
· Strong proficiency in Niagara 4 and Niagara AX platforms (certification preferred).
· Solid understanding of building systems including HVAC, lighting, and energy management.
· Familiarity with networking, IP addressing, and integration between BAS and enterprise systems.
· Strong documentation skills including wiring diagrams, network schematics, and sequence of operations.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
· Effective communicator and collaborator across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Niagara 4 Technical Certification (TCP) preferred.
· Experience with Honeywell WEBs, Distech, Vykon, or other Niagara-based products.
· Familiarity with smart building technologies and IoT devices.
· Niagara 4 Enterprise Security Technical Certification Program is a plus.
Work Environment:
Combination of office and field-based work in commercial and industrial settings.
Travel may be required to support system deployment, commissioning, and customer support.
