Job: Accounting Manager

Location: On-site

Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager oversees all accounting operations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures, processes, practices, and internal controls. The accounting manager will also be responsible for ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting and plays a critical role in optimizing our financial processes.


Major Responsibilities:

· Manage the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

· Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.

· Oversee, train, and mentor members of the accounting department. 

· Oversee the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and cash application.

· Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances to minimize days sales outstanding (DSO).

· Develop, document, and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.

· Regularly review and update SOPs to align with best practices and regulatory requirements.

· Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.

· Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing analysis and insights.

· Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

· Supervise and mentor the accounts payable and accounts receivable team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.

· Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

· Coordinate and support external audits and ensure timely completion of audit requests.

· Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent amount of experience; Master’s degree or CPA or CMA designation preferred.


Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience, including responsibility for creating and maintaining standard operating procedures/internal controls.

2+ years in a managerial role.

2+ years’ experience in accounts receivable.

2+ years’ experience in accounts payable.

Minimum of Intermediate excel experience required. 


Skills:

· Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly related to accounts receivable and accounts payable.

· Strong analytical skills, systems thinking, and attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.

· Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics).

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

· Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Experience with process improvement and automation initiatives.

· Experience with change management.

· Proficient in Microsoft office suites

· Ability to maintain confidentiality


Working Conditions:

· Office environment with a standard workweek (may include occasional overtime).
