We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Buyer/Planner to join our team, supporting our downstream business with a focus on utilizing chemistry to prevent and mitigate challenges throughout the refinery. This role is responsible for planning and forecasting, purchasing and procurement, inventory management, supplier relationship management and cost and process optimization.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Work closely with plants, operations, sales, to ensure a reliable stream of product. Adjusting orders as needed to prevent stock outs and oversupply
· Evaluating sales forecasts against system calculated planning parameters and adjusting planning parameters in a way that best supports the business
· Work closely with the procurement and sourcing team to resolve supplier issues and assist with setting up new supplier options
· Regularly monitor and address inactive, slow moving, and excess inventory
· Initiate product set-ups and extensions for responsible WHSEs
· Supporting operations in product transfers and blends using process orders
· Organizing inventory counts and performing the related data entry activities
· Travel occasionally to assigned warehouses.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in operations, supply chain management, logistics, or business or minimum of 3 years of applicable Supply Chain Planning experience, preferably inventory management or master planning with global operations
· High level of proficiency with common ERP systems, especially JDA Master Planning and SAP (Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP))
· No immigration sponsorship available for this position
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
· High level proficiency with MS Office, primarily Excel.
· APICS Certification
· A track record of successfully delivering to Key Performance Indicators and business objectives.
· Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills to drive decisions and build consensus among stakeholders.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
· Work will typically be performed in an office environment using routine office equipment.
Travel Requirements
· Less than 20% - only as needed for training, supplier meetings, customer visits, etc.
